It's a 'too easy' riff that I made too complicated. But alas, it was a learning experience.

Starting with a sixth, add 5,6 notes, play it over and over with the same rhythm, and there's the song.

I learned alot about studying this riff because it's a bluesy riff, but I thought that the run down was a chromatic note, but it turms out that it's the Blue Note ! Doh, the minor pentatonic scale. Apart from that, I learned that my rhythm practice needs work!

I concentrated on:
1) getting the rhythm in my body- no bass
2) Sing the riff, 3) play it
4) Listen to the drum and see how they fit into this.

I didn't want to 'listen' the riff before reading it. The rhythm is quite simple, and once I played it, it was 'oh that song'. It just goes to show you that a 'riff' doesn't have to be complicated.
